champagne filly with a snow white mane, perfect blaze and mixed tail. Her

The champagne gene is a dilution gene similar to the cream gene but they
are not the same. Palomino horses have black skin, champagnes have
'pumpkin colored' skin with a mottling appearance around the muzzle, under
the tail and around the genital areas.
Since purchasing Meg, I have learned a lot about the champagne gene. I
have also learned a lot about patience! She sure did not want any thing to
do with me at first!! :-) We have slowly built up a friendship.
Meg is a very serious filly. She is a thinker too. All business, no
"fluff" to her personality. Right now she has a VERY wooly winter coat-she
is the color of a butterscotch candy. A very hairy candy at that! LOL!
Conformationally, she is very correct. She has a long neck, beautiful
head, wonderful shoulder angle, short cannons and a nice long femur.
Her full sister is a gorgeous sorrel with a flaxen mane and tail. Bobbie's
dam was bred to Meg's sire and has had several outstanding champagne
Hopefully, she will cross to Pa as well as her dam has. She adds a shimmer
of color to the herd that's for sure!
Meg is for sale for
$3500.00. On Jan. 7th her blood typing got done. She is now up to date
on the following vaccinations: E/W Sleeping Sickness, Influenza, Rhino,
Strangles, Rabies and West Nile. I will booster her West Nile in three
weeks. She was also wormed with Ivermectin on Jan. 7th and had a Coggin's
done. Results aren't back yet. She is ready to go to a new home.
